The shelves, the materials, the layout — all of it shifts with the season and the children currently in the room. We watch what draws each child's attention and reorganise around that.
Outdoor time, soil trays, low climbing structures. The room opens onto a garden area used daily regardless of weather.
Infant group (0 – 18 months)
Low ratios. Known faces. Low turnover.
3:1 child-to-educator ratio. Consistent primary contact for each infant. Feeding, sleep, and play schedules built around each child individually, not a posted timetable.
Toddler group (18 months – 3 years)
Our North Delta educators have been with us long enough to know each family's rhythms. When your child arrives, the same person greets them.
4:1 ratio. Play-led mornings with materials chosen by the educators who know each child's current interests. No scripted curriculum, no standardised milestones chart on the wall.
